Dek Hockey Referee (Part-time)

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dek Hockey Referee to officiate games in our recreational Dek hockey league. You will be responsible for officiating games at various levels, from youth and adult leagues to tournaments, while enforcing regulations to maintain the integrity of the sport. As a Dek Hockey Referee, you will play a crucial role in ensuring fair play, safety, and adherence to the rules of the game during hockey matches.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an official during hockey matches, ensuring that all players, coaches, and spectators adhere to the rules and regulations of the game.
  • Make on-the-spot decisions regarding penalties, infractions, and game interruptions according to the official rules of hockey.
  • Facilitate the smooth progression of the game by managing stoppages, face-offs, and player substitutions in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize the safety of players by penalizing dangerous plays, enforcing equipment regulations, and intervening in confrontations to prevent altercations.
  • Effectively communicate decisions and rulings to players, coaches, and other officials on the rink, maintaining professionalism and composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Stay updated on rule changes, officiating techniques, and best practices through ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Resolve disputes and conflicts between players or teams in a fair and impartial manner, de-escalating tensions and maintaining control of the game.
  • Collaborate with other officials to ensure consistency and accuracy in decision-making throughout the game.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience officiating dek hockey games preferred, but not required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the rules, regulations, and mechanics of hockey officiating, including penalties, offside, icing, and other infractions.
  • Good physical condition, agility, and stamina to keep up with the fast-paced nature of hockey matches and maintain optimal positioning on the rink.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively convey rulings, explanations, and instructions to players, coaches, and fellow officials.
  • Quick decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, ensuring fair and consistent officiating throughout the game.
  • Exemplary conduct, integrity, and impartiality in all aspects of officiating, maintaining respect for the game and its participants at all times.

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires standing and moving for extended periods of time.
  • Weeknight and weekend availability is essential.

As a Flag Football Referee, you will ensure that games are conducted safely, fairly, and with respect for all players and coaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Officiate flag football games according to established rules and regulations.
  • Enforce rules fairly and consistently throughout each game.
  • Manage game timing and ensure adherence to the schedule.
  • Monitor player/coach conduct and intervene when necessary to maintain sportsmanship and fair play.

Customer Service Desk Representative (Full-time/Part-time)

Join our dynamic team as a Customer Service Desk Representative at our bustling indoor sports facility. As the first point of contact for our patrons, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional experience for all visitors. This position offers the opportunity to engage with diverse clientele, provide assistance, and contribute to the smooth operation of our facility.

Responsibilities:

Service Desk Operations:

  • Greet visitors warmly and assist with inquiries, registrations, and facility information.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and in-person inquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area.

Registration:

  • Assist with existing customer/prospective customer sign-ups, renewals, and account inquiries.
  • Process registrations for sports leagues, camps, training, tournaments, and events.
  • Provide information on activities offered by the business.

Customer Assistance:

  • Address customer concerns, feedback, and complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Offer guidance on facility amenities, programs, and services.
  • Resolve issues related to bookings, scheduling, and cancellations.

Cash Handling and Transactions:

  • Process payments through a Point of Sale (POS) system for registrations, rentals, and purchases accurately.
  • Balance POS cash register at the end of each shift.
  • Follow established procedures for refunds and exchanges.

Facility Promotion:

  • Promote upcoming events, leagues, and promotions to visitors.
  • Distribute marketing materials and encourage participation in facility activities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas for attracting new customers.

Safety and Security:

  • Monitor entrance and exit points to ensure facility security.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
  • Respond to emergencies or incidents according to established protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
