Training Details

Key Skills:

  • Passing: Teach players proper throwing techniques, including grip, stance, and follow-through.
  • Catching: Emphasize hands-first catching technique, using fingers to secure the ball.
  • Route Running: Teach players how to run different routes effectively, such as go routes, slants, and out routes.
  • Flag-Pulling: Instruct players on the correct way to pull a flag from an opponent without making contact.
  • Defensive Positioning: Teach players how to stay in position, read the offense, and react to plays.
  • Agility and Speed: Focus on agility drills and speed training to improve players' quickness on the field.
  • Teamwork: Encourage players to communicate with their teammates, work together, and support each other during gameplay.

Key Rules:

  • Scoring: Explain how touchdowns, extra points, and field goals are scored in flag football.
  • Flag-Pulling: Emphasize the rule that a player is down when their flag is pulled by an opponent.
  • No Contact: Reinforce the no-contact rule in flag football to prevent injuries.
  • Offensive Plays: Teach players about different offensive formations, plays, and strategies.
  • Defensive Plays: Explain defensive strategies, including coverage schemes and pass rush techniques.
  • Game Duration: Clarify the length of each game, including quarters or halves, and any overtime rules.
